I absolutely hate a cluttered desktop. I keep my desktops clean (very clean!) – no icon, no file and no folder. If you are an Ubuntu user, two icons on the desktop might be irritating you.

Here is a simple solution (no coding needed) to disable these two icons “User Home” and “Trash” from your desktop. These steps should work for all current Ubuntu LTS releases including the latest Ubuntu 19.10 (Eoan Ermine) Beta.
- Step 1: Go to
Ubuntu Software
and installGnome Tweaks
.

- Step 2: Now open the software and navigate to
Extensions > Desktop Icons
.

- Step 3: Disable both “Show the personal folder on the desktop” and “Show the wastebasket icon on the desktop”.

That’s it. Both icons are gone!
